Workshop 7: Networked knowledge organization systems / sources
Time: Wednesday, June 7 (full day)
Description
The goal of the NKOS activity is to develop a community of
researchers and developers who are working toward creating
interactive Knowledge Organization Systems accessible over the
Web. This include thesaurus and ontology developers, digital
library and information infrastructure developers, information
scientists, and library professionals. We spend a portion of
each meeting informing one another of current relevant
projects.

Organizer information
Gail Hodge, Information International Associates, has been
involved with production systems for abstracting/indexing
services for 20 years. Linda Hill is a Research Specialist
with the Alexandria Digital Library Project at the University
of California, Santa Barbara. Joseph Bush is Vice president
for Information Product Development at Metacode, a company
developing knowledge management products. All have helped
develop and lead the NKOS workshops at previous ACM DL
conferences.
